Background - E-Commerce License
An E-Commerce license is required to operate an online business selling goods or services involving electronic transactions in Thailand.
However, a regulation effective June 5, 2024 issued by the Ministry of Commerce exempts private companies, public companies and registered branches from the requirement to obtain an E-Commerce license in Thailand (see Notification Re: Business Regulations that Commercial Operators Must Register and Businesses that are Not Subject to the Commercial Registration Act B.E. 2567).
Thus, an E-Commerce license is basically only required for Thai individuals that operate an online business selling goods or services involving electronic transactions in Thailand.
The following are the requirements to obtain an E-Commerce license:
